Founded in 1956 by Larry Lippert, the company began as a galvanized and aluminum roofing business for the manufactured housing industry. Since then, Lippert has evolved into an industry leader of premium components for the recreational vehicle, marine automotive, commercial vehicle and building products industries.
In 2016, Lippert began to focus its attention and resources in the European Caravanning Market, acquiring some of the most successful companies in the industry, including Project 2000 SRL, an Italian manufacturer of innovative products to the Caravanning industry. Through various acquisitions and continuous improvement, Lippert expanded its capabilities to include entry door manufacturing and lamination, bed lifts, pop-up roofs for camper vans, slide-outs, table legs, TV brackets, bike carriers, entry steps, blinds and flyscreens.
LCI acquired Sessa Klein, an Italian manufacturer of rolling stock windows for high-speed and commuter trains.
LCI acquired Metallarte and RV Doors, an Italian manufacturer of caravan and motorhome entry doors, as well as access doors.
LCI acquired ST.LA., an Italian manufacturer of bed lifts, ladders, table mechanisms, holding tanks and caravan accessories.
LCI acquired the Taylor Made Group and its affiliated companies, including Taylor Made Systems, Taylor Made Glass, Taylor Made Products, Ameritex, Taylor Made Glass and Systems, and Trend Marine. At $88 million, this was LCI’s largest acquisition to date.
Lippert also broke into the European Marine market in 2018 with the acquisition of Taylor Made, including its brand Trend Marine.
LCI acquired Lewmar, a UK-based manufacturer of premium marine products for the international boating industry.
LCI acquired Ciesse, an Italian manufacturer that produces interior products for the international rail industry.
LCI acquired the Polyplastic Group, a Netherlands manufacturer of highly engineered shaped acrylic products. Polyplastic was the largest European acquisition to this date.
